To protect your privacy as a client, this statement is issued explaining our company compliance policy in regards to the collection and use of private and confidential information.
We advise that the information that you provide for funeral related purposes is "personal information" as per the provisions of the Federal Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 which came into force on 22 December 2001. This private and sensitive information is used for statutory purposes and we shall not disclose these details to anyone, except as required at law.
Should a request be received to access personal information contained in company records relating to you or your family, a written authorisation from a bona fide family member and presentation of suitable identification will be required to confirm your consent to the release of the requested records thereby ensuring your privacy is maintained.
Any request to alter or correct personal information contained in company records or files will be limited insofar as they are statutory records and therefore may only be altered in limited circumstances.
Should you wish to have access to, or wish to correct any personal information, your request should be put in writing to the State Chief Operating Officer who, for the purposes of the Federal Privacy Act, has been appointed as the privacy officer.
